Congress has designated April as Financial Literacy Month to raise public awareness about the importance of financial education. It’s a good time to review your personal finances. Learn how to assess your financial well-being and take the steps to improve it. Here is a list of personal financial education resources available online to get you started.

Adult/Teacher Resources

American Bankers Association Consumer Connection
Information on budget planning, credit do's and don'ts, and good saving habits. Includes interactive tools, such as financial calculators and credit and saving quizzes.

American Council of Life Insurers
Provides information on life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance and retirement savings.

Your Pathway to Vehicle Financing
Helps consumers learn how to finance a vehicle. In English and Spanish.

America Saves
A nationwide campaign to help people save and build wealth. “Savers” enroll in the campaign and open savings accounts to meet goals such as home ownership, school tuition, retirement or debt repayment.

American Savings Education Council
Offers several savings resources and interactive tools, such as quizzes and worksheets for adults and children.

Who We Are: NEFE High School Financial Planning Program
The National Endowment for Financial Education's program for teachers and students that includes games, interactive exercises and simulations on basic financial principles. Student guide in Spanish.

DebtAdvice.org
The National Foundation for Credit Counseling's site offers credit counseling, debt management plans, money management education, and home ownership and counseling services.

American Bankers Association Consumer Connection
Money in Motion financial literacy program for students in grades 7–12.

MoneySKILL
The American Financial Services Association's interactive course for high school students includes two real-life simulations that help create a personal financial plan from the time a student is financially independent of parents to the intended age of retirement.

Learn (Bureau of the Public Debt)
Offers students comprehensive information on bonds. Also provides teachers with access to "Money Math: Lessons for Life," a four-lesson curriculum for middle school students that teaches math concepts using real-life examples from personal finance.
