Houston Money Week

April 9–15, 2012
Houston, Texas

Houston Money Week is a financial literacy and education program that empowers families and individuals through financial education. Designed to raise awareness of the need for and availability of financial education resources, Houston Money Week involves a collaborative, coordinated effort by hundreds of partner organizations across Houston and surrounding areas—including businesses, financial institutions, schools, libraries, not for profits, and government agencies.

Houston Money Week is an annual event held each April in conjunction with National Financial Literacy Month. During the week, partners come together to stress the importance of financial literacy, inform consumers where they can get help, and provide free educational seminars and activities. Programming is offered for all demographics and income levels and covers an array of personal finance topics, from establishing a budget to first-time home buying. In its first five years, the initiative has reached thousands of Houstonians.
