Navigating a Sea of Change
University Faculty Conference
November 6, 2009

Since the advent of the financial crisis in 2007, the economies of the United States and other nations have faced enormous challenges and tremendous uncertainty. The pace of global integration that marked the end of the 20th century has been greatly threatened. Fiscal and monetary policymakers grapple with difficult issues and complex questions as they seek stability and sustainable economic growth.
