International Marketplace A One-Day Forum for High School Faculty
Houston Branch, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
July 29, 2009
Sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and the Texas Council on Economic Education
Imprints of the international marketplace appear every day in the foods we eat, clothes we wear, jobs we have, technology we use, vehicles we drive, cultural traditions we observe, investments we make and prices we pay.
As the world becomes more interconnected, international trade, international relations and the international financial markets face enormous challenges. For high school educators, the challenge is enlarging our understanding of this increased interdependence so that our students are prepared to live and thrive in a global society.
This forum for high school faculty explored the accelerating change, increasing complexity and unpredictability occurring in the international marketplace.
