Economic Summit 2009

Traversing a Rough Terrain: The U.S. Economy
A Two-Day Conference for High School Educators
Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
June 9–10, 2009

The U.S. economy faces challenges on many fronts. Questions abound. What is the outlook for economic recovery and employment? Are prices stable? How have financial institutions and markets changed and how will they continue to change? What can we learn from the past? How will fiscal and monetary policy be implemented to strengthen the economy?  How will changes in other policy areas affect the economy? What role does the global economy play in the U.S. recovery?

The 2009 Economic Summit, "Traversing a Rough Terrain: The U.S. Economy" addressed these questions, as well as other factors impacting the economy. Sessions also provided suggestions for classroom activities.
