Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas announces executive promotion at Houston Branch

Donald Bowers has been promoted to assistant vice president at the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Bowers will have executive responsibilities for the Information Technology Services, Personnel, and Economics and Public Affairs departments.

A native of Houston, Bowers joined the Dallas Fed in 1990 as a research assistant and became a member of the Bank’s Management Development Program in 1991. He was promoted to human resources manager in 1995 and to operations officer in 2001 with continuing responsibility for the Human Resources Department.

Over his 14-year career with the Fed, Bowers has led numerous groups on special assignments supporting objectives of the Federal Reserve.

Bowers received his bachelor’s degree in managerial studies from Rice University. He is a graduate of United Way’s Project Blueprint Leadership Development Program and is active in the community. Currently, he serves on the board of directors of the Houston Area Urban League.
