Dallas Fed Hosts Young Professionals Luncheon

DALLAS—Getting ahead in today’s knowledge-based economy is the topic of a luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

“You Earn What You Learn: Thriving as a Young Professional” is part of the Dallas Fed’s occasional “Lunch and Learn” series, targeting professionals ages 18–35. The luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m.

Dallas Fed President Richard W. Fisher will provide opening remarks, and chief economist W. Michael Cox will be the luncheon speaker, presenting compelling insight into the economic value of education and lifelong learning.

“The most important tool we have to achieve the American Dream isn’t the computer, the Internet or any of the other innovations sure to dazzle us in the future,” Cox explains. “It is the brain. Its development through lifetime learning is the key to opportunity, upward mobility and rising living standards.”

Cost for the luncheon is $10. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 5. Seating is limited, so register online today at www.dallasfed.org.
