Jiles appointed to board of Dallas Fed's Houston Branch

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has appointed Jodie L. Jiles to the Dallas Fed’s Houston Branch board of directors. He will serve the remaining portion of an unexpired three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2007.

Jiles is senior vice president of First Albany Capital. He has been in the municipal finance business for 20 years with various Wall Street, regional and minority firms.

He also is chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership.

Jiles serves on the Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital boards of directors and the University of Texas Health Science Center Development Board. He is a board member for both the Center for Reform of School Systems and the Charter Schools Policy Institute.

He was appointed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry to serve on the Interim Commission on Higher Education. Jiles also previously served on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
Jiles received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Southern University and a master’s degree in professional accountancy from the University of Texas at Austin.

The Houston Branch board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed board of directors and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
