Concentrated poverty focus of Dallas Fed policy forum

DALLAS—Concentrated poverty is the topic of an upcoming Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas policy forum for bankers, academics, policymakers, and community and economic development professionals.

“Concentrated Poverty: What, Where and Why” will be held 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 12 at the Dallas Fed, 2200 N. Pearl St. Participants can register to attend the conference at www.dallasfed.org.

Paul A. Jargowsky of the University of Texas at Dallas will address the causes and consequences of concentrated poverty.

Marcus Martin will discuss his experiences as director of research for the Foundation for Community Empowerment, which seeks to reduce Dallas-area disparities in economic opportunity.
