William Flores reappointed to Dallas Fed's El Paso Branch board

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Board of Governors has re-appointed William V. Flores to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ El Paso Branch. He will serve a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2009.

Flores is executive vice president and provost of New Mexico State University. Previously, he was dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and professor of political science at California State University, Northridge, and associate dean of the School of Social Sciences at California State University, Fresno. He also has held positions at Stanford University and Santa Clara University.

Flores serves on the board of Arrowhead Inc. and served on the National Hispanic Cultural Center Board. He is a graduate of Leadership New Mexico, and a member of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges, and Council of University Presidents of New Mexico.

He has been recognized as a “New Mexico Power Broker” and received the New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award.

A native of San Diego, Flores received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Los Angeles and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Stanford University.

The El Paso Branch board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed board and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
