Pasadena student wins Dallas Fed Essay Contest

DALLAS—Erica Clark, Pasadena Memorial High School senior, is the winner of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ 17th Annual Essay Contest.

Clark was awarded a $1,000 savings bond.

Her essay, “Spinning the Web of Economies,” was judged by Dallas Fed economists. About 300 students entered this year’s competition.

Participants in the Dallas Fed’s annual essay contest explore timely economic topics. The contest is open to all 11th and 12th grade students in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District, composed of Texas, northern Louisiana and southern New Mexico.

The theme of this year’s contest was “Globalization: Miracle or Menace?” Students were required to analyze and take a position on the concept of globalization.
