King Elected to Dallas Fed Board

DALLAS—Joe Kim King of Brady has been elected by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ member banks to the Dallas Fed’s board of directors. He will serve a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2008.

King is president and chairman of Texas Country Bancshares, Inc., a $280 million organization with four bank charters and six locations headquartered in Brady. He serves as CEO of Brady National Bank, chairman of The First National Bank of Ballinger, Bank of San Angelo and Uvalde National Bank, and vice chairman of Citizens Bank in Abilene and Knox City.

Previously, he served as president and CEO of the First National Bank of Plainview.

King is chairman of the audit committee for the executive committee of The Independent Bankers Bank board. He serves on the Brady Economic Development Board and is president of the McCulloch County Conservation Association.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree from Texas A&M University. He is a graduate of the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking.

Each Federal Reserve Bank has a nine-member board of directors. Three members represent commercial banks, three represent the public and three are appointed by the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
