Foshee elected chairman pro tem of Dallas Fed's Houston Branch board

DALLAS—The board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas' Houston Branch has elected Douglas L. Foshee chairman pro tem for 2008.

Foshee was reappointed to a three-year term on the Houston Branch board in 2008 by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. He was first appointed in 2006.

Foshee is president, CEO and director of El Paso Corp. He serves on the boards of Children's Museum of Houston, Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation, Central Houston Inc. and The Greater Houston Partnership. He is a member of the Rice University Board of Trustees, The Jones Graduate School Council of Overseers and The National Petroleum Council. He is a recipient of the 2007 Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

Foshee holds a B.B.A. from Texas State University and an M.B.A. from Rice University. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University's Southwest Graduate School of Banking.

The Houston Branch board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed board and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
