Dallas Student Places Second in Dallas Fed Essay Contest
DALLAS—Rosemary Parravano, a senior at the Hockaday School of Dallas, is the second-place winner in the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ 18th Annual Essay Contest.
Parravano was awarded a $500 savings bond.
Parravano’s essay, “Willy Wonka and the Economics Factory,” was judged by Dallas Fed economists.
Participants in the Dallas Fed’s annual essay contest explore timely economic topics. The contest is open to all 11th and 12th grade students in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District, composed of Texas, northern Louisiana and southern New Mexico.
The theme of this year’s contest was “Economics in Motion Pictures.” Students were required to analyze and describe the important economic principles demonstrated in a film of their choosing.
