Hobby appointed to Dallas Fed’s Houston Branch board

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Board of Governors has appointed Paul W. Hobby to the Dallas Fed’s Houston Branch board of directors for a term ending Dec. 31, 2011.

Hobby is chairman and CEO of Alpheus Communications, a provider of telecommunications and data center services.  He is also founding partner of Genesis Park, a Houston-based private equity firm.

Previously, he was an attorney with Fulbright & Jaworski. He also served as a federal prosecutor for the Southern District of Texas.

Hobby serves on the boards of NRG Energy and Stewart Information Services.

He holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.

The Houston board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed board and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
