Ann Stern appointed to Dallas Fed's Houston Branch board

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has appointed Ann Stern to the Dallas Fed’s Houston Branch board of directors. She will serve the remaining portion of an unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2011.

She is executive vice president of Texas Children’s Hospital. Previously, she served as senior vice president and general counsel for the hospital.

Prior to her time at Texas Children’s, Stern was an attorney for Beck, Redden and Secrest. She also taught business law at the University of St. Thomas.

She serves on the board of directors for the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and is a past member of the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration’s Advisory Commission on Childhood Vaccines.

Stern also serves as vice chairman on the St. John’s School Board of Trustees. 

She holds a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Texas, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

The Houston board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed board and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
