Hyder elected to Dallas Fed board

DALLAS—Fort Worth investor Elton M. Hyder has been elected to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas board of directors by its member banks in Texas, southern New Mexico and northern Louisiana. He will serve a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2011.

Hyder is president and CEO of EMH Corporation and C&E F.L. Partnership. He is also president of the Elton and Christine Hyder Foundation.

Hyder’s businesses have interests in commercial real estate, natural gas, gas pipelines, water development and farming.

Hyder has served on the boards of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Fort Worth Inc., Public Broadcasting Service (KERA 13 and KERA 90.1), Texas Wesleyan University and the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and University of Texas School of Law.

Each Federal Reserve Bank has a nine-member board of directors. Three members represent commercial banks, three represent the public and three are appointed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
