Renard Johnson appointed to Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ El Paso Branch board

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Board of Governors has appointed Renard U. Johnson of El Paso to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ El Paso Branch board of directors.  He will serve a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2014.

In his role as a board member, Johnson will provide input on regional economic conditions as part of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy functions.

Johnson is president and CEO of Management and Engineering Technologies International Inc. (METI), a professional services company that provides systems engineering and information technology support to a variety of customers. Johnson founded METI in 1994.

He is a member of the University of Texas at El Paso College of Engineering Advisory Board and a director in the Texas Lyceum.

He also serves on the boards of the Sierra Providence East Medical Center, University Medical Center Foundation and United Way El Paso.

He is a former board chairman of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UTEP.

The El Paso Branch board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed board and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
