Drake Mills named vice president of Federal Reserve Board's Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council for 2013

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Board has named Drake Mills of Choudrant, La. vice president of its Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council for 2013.

Mills previously served as a member of the council in 2012.

The council is composed of 12 representatives from banks, thrift institutions and credit unions serving on local advisory councils at the 12 Federal Reserve Banks. Mills is a charter member of the Dallas Fed’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council established in 2010.

Council members provide the Federal Reserve Board with input on the economy, lending conditions and other issues as part of a Federal Reserve initiative to enhance communication and feedback with community bankers.

Mills is president and CEO of Community Trust Bank in Choudrant, chairman, president and CEO of Community Trust Financial Corporation, and serves on the board of Community Trust Services Corporation.

He also serves on the boards of First National Bankers Bank, Northeast Louisiana Economic Partnership and the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Louisiana. He is the chairman-elect of the Louisiana Bankers Association.

Mills holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Louisiana Tech University. He is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and also holds a professional master of banking from that institution.

Mills was named 2009 Louisiana Tech Alumnus of the Year and serves on the Louisiana Tech University Technology Foundation.
