Military veteran entrepreneurship subject of Dallas Fed summit

DALLAS—Military veterans interested in the “who, what and how” of starting or growing a business should attend an upcoming summit hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and Momentum Texas.

“Texas Veterans Business Summit: Where Opportunity Meets Action!” will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, 2200 N. Pearl St., Dallas.

Participants can register to attend at www.dallasfed.org.

The summit covers several subjects of interest to aspiring entrepreneurs with military experience. Topics will include:

  • Advertising
  • Creating procurement opportunities
  • Transitioning business for the future
  • Identifying finance options
  • Ongoing technical support
  • Navigating a veteran-owned business toward success

Prominent figures from the entrepreneurial and investor community—“veterans” of the business world—will participate in interactive panels.

Brig. Gen. Casey Blake, deputy director of the Army and Air Force Exchange Services, will deliver the keynote address.

The summit will also recognize the Dallas–Fort Worth area Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year.

The conference is being hosted in partnership with Allies in Service, Veterans Coalition of North Central Texas, U.S. Small Business Administration, Texas Veterans Leadership Program, Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Veterans Commission, U.S. Veterans Administration and U.S. Veterans Chamber of Commerce.
