Jimmy Rasmussen of Galveston elected to Dallas Fed board

DALLAS—Jimmy Rasmussen of Galveston has been elected to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas board of directors by its member banks. He will serve a three-year term starting January 1, 2013.

In his role as a board member, Rasmussen will provide input on regional economic conditions as part of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy functions.

Rasmussen is president and CEO of HomeTown Bank, N.A., a community banking organization with $450 million in assets headquartered in Galveston, Texas. Rasmussen has served as president of the bank for 24 years.

He is former chairman of the Independent Bankers of Texas and was a Texas representative on the board of the Independent Community Bankers of America.

Rasmussen is also a former chairman of the Texas City–LaMarque Chamber of Commerce. He served on the board of Galveston Chamber of Commerce and was founding chairman of the Galveston Economic Development Partnership.

He holds a BBA and MBA in finance from Sam Houston State University.

Each Federal Reserve Bank has a nine-member board of directors. Three members represent commercial banks, three represent the public and three are appointed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
