El Paso hospital administrator J. Eric Evans named to board of Dallas Fed's El Paso Branch

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Board of Governors has appointed J. Eric Evans to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ El Paso Branch board of directors for a three-year term beginning January 2014.

In his role as a board member, Evans will provide input on regional economic conditions as part of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy functions.

Evans is CEO of Providence Memorial Hospital, Providence Children’s Hospital and Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, a position in which he has served since September 2012.

He also served as CEO of Lake Pointe Health Network in Rowlett, Texas.

He began his career in health care administration in 2004 with Tenet Healthcare. Prior to joining Tenet Healthcare, Evans served as an industrial engineer, forecast analyst and material flow coordinator for Saturn Corporation in Spring Hill, Tennessee.

Evans currently serves on the boards of the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, The Borderplex Alliance, Paso Del Norte Health Information and Paso Del Norte Surgery Center, and on the advisory boards of the Medical Center of the Americas and TeVido BioDevices. He is president-elect and director of the Southwest Healthcare Executives Association.

He is an American College of Healthcare Executives Fellow and was honored as North Texas Young Healthcare Executive of the Year in 2011. He also was included in Becker’s Hospital Review “25 Healthcare Leaders under 40” list in 2012 and 2013.

Evans received his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University.

The El Paso board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed board and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
