Dallas Fed announces executive promotions

For immediate release: January 28, 2014

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has announced the following promotions:

­— Bob Moore has been promoted to vice president responsible for the Bank’s Financial Industry Studies Department.

Previously, Moore served as assistant vice president. He began his career with the Dallas Fed in 1991 and has held a variety of management positions in the Financial Industry Studies Department.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Missouri and a doctorate in economics from the University of Wisconsin.

— Pia Orrenius has been promoted to vice president responsible for the Bank’s regional economic research group.

Previously, Orrenius served as assistant vice president. She joined the bank in 1999 as an economist and was promoted to research officer in 2009.

Orrenius is widely published and well-known for her expertise on immigration and is affiliated with several academic institutions. She is a research fellow at the Tower Center for Political Studies at Southern Methodist University and at the IZA Institute of Labor in Bonn, Germany, as well as a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. Orrenius is also adjunct professor for Baylor University’s executive MBA program.

She was senior economist on the President’s Council of Economic Advisers from 2004 to 2005.

She holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a doctorate in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.
