Al Walker appointed to Dallas Fed's Houston Branch board

DALLAS—Al Walker of Houston has been appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ Houston Branch board of directors by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.  He will serve a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2017.

Walker is chairman, president and CEO of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. in Houston. Prior to joining Anadarko, he worked in the oil and gas industry, investment and commercial banking and as an institutional investor. 

As a board member, he will provide input on regional economic conditions as part of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy functions.

Walker serves as director of CenterPoint Energy Inc. and BOK Financial Corp. He also serves on the board of trustees of the Houston Museum of Natural Science and on the boards of the American Petroleum Institute (Executive Committee) and America’s Natural Gas Alliance (Executive Committee). He is also a member of the Business Roundtable and Business Council.  

Walker earned a B.S.B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Tulsa.

The Houston Branch board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
