Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas,
El Paso Branch
Roberto Coronado is on special assignment at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in El Paso.
His research at the Fed focuses on issues pertaining
to the Mexican economy, the maquiladora industry, and
the U.S.–Mexico border economy. Coronado has written articles for various Federal Reserve publications and academic journals in both the United States and Mexico, such as Annals of Regional Science, Southern Economic Journal, Investigación Económica and Migraciones Internacionales. Coronado also co-directs the
Network of Border Economics (NOBE/REF), a network of
researchers aimed at studying the border economy.
Prior to joining the Dallas
Fed, Coronado was a research economist at Deloitte &
Touche and the University of Texas at El Paso. Coronado
holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting
and a master of science degree in economics—both
from the University of Texas at El Paso. He also holds a master of arts in economics from the University of Houston, where he currently is a Ph.D. candidate in economics.
