Texas Employment Update

The Texas economy continued to expand. Texas added 24,600 jobs in February
(Table 1).

The Dallas Fed improves the Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS) payroll employment estimates for Texas by incorporating preliminary benchmarks into the data in a more timely manner and by using a two-step seasonal adjustment technique. Current Dallas Fed data are benchmarked though third quarter 2011. BLS data are benchmarked through second quarter 2011.
