Third Annual Large Bank Directors Conference

October 10–11, 2018 Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas

This conference was for independent directors at firms with assets above $50 billion that are not designated as among the most systemically important or as insurance savings and loan holding companies. Directors had an opportunity to network and discuss current hot topics with their peers and with senior Federal Reserve System supervisors. Specific topics on the agenda include recent and expected industry changes, business technology risk, cyber security, fintech, and consumer compliance, along with updates on the proposed new large banking organization rating system and related guidance.

This session will provide a look at how large bank supervision fits in at the Federal Reserve, the roles of Reserve Bank and Board Staff, the role of the Large and Foreign Banking Organization Management Group, and the use of horizontal and coordinated reviews. This will also cover leveraging and working with other agencies.

This session will look at some Federal Reserve enhancements through strategic planning, including initiatives and actions to improve supervision and efficiency.
