Pavel Kapinos is a senior research economist in the Supervisory Risk and Surveillance division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, where he has worked since 2016. His primary research fields are banking, monetary economics and empirical macroeconomics. Kapinos holds a PhD in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana—Champaign. Prior to his current position, he was an associate professor of economics at Carleton College and a senior financial economist at the FDIC.
