Banking on Financial Education

Last fall, the Texas Department of Banking surveyed Texas banks to identify the financial education services and programs they offer. One hundred and fifty-four banks responded to the online survey. Here are the results.

Are interested in providing financial education 86
Offer customer service in languages other than English 60
Offer financial education training 40
Have staff overseeing their financial education program 21
Provide the following types of personal finance education:  
   Seminars/workshops 32
   Money management (debt, investment, retirement, fraud)  28
   Exhibit booths 19
   Online training 8
   Conferences 3
