This three-day workshop trained economics teachers in course-specific content and is designed for teachers with little or no economics experience.
Economics Boot Camp was directed toward teachersnew to the role of teaching high school economics, withlittle formal training in the discipline and those overwhelmed by vocabulary, graphs and charts. Workshop sessions were led by economic education specialists with experience in the high school classroom. The content correlated directly with the TEKS for Economics with Emphasis on the Free Enterprise System and Its Benefits, the Louisiana GLEs and the New Mexico Content Standards. Each session included suggestions for elective classroom strategies.
