Examine the impact of global markets on the world and U.S. economies during this annual conference for high school educators.
Secondary educators are invited to join the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas on Tuesday, July 20, to deepen their knowledge of global issues surrounding economics with presentations by economists and regional and industry experts.
The annual International Marketplace forum addresses international issues and provides classroom strategies for secondary educators. The one-day program will examine international challenges facing the U.S. Topics will include:
- Presentations on the relationship between the U.S. and Mexico, including potential renegotiation of NAFTA and the economic impact of trade on Texas
- A session on fact-checking using tools available from the U.S. Census Bureau
- Training, materials and classroom lessons that correlate with the TEKS
Attendees will earn six hours of professional development credit.
