Sharon Sweeney is senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Sweeney also serves as the Bank’s ethics officer.
As general counsel, Sweeney has general supervision of the Legal Department, which handles all legal matters for the Eleventh Federal Reserve District. As corporate secretary, she works closely with the Bank’s board of directors and advisory council members.
Sweeney joined the Bank in 1985 and has served as chair to the Subcommittee of Legal Counsel that provides legal analysis and advice to the Conference of Presidents. Sweeney is currently a member and chairs an established workgroup of that subcommittee. Sweeney previously served as a member of the Subcommittee of Legal Counsel’s Executive Committee.
Sweeney earned her JD from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University and earned certification as a mediator from Harvard Law School. She received her undergraduate degree from Baldwin Wallace University, graduating summa cum laude.
