Traber appointed to Dallas Fed's Houston Branch board

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has appointed Peter G. Traber, M.D., to the bank’s Houston Branch board of directors for a term ending Dec. 31, 2008.

Traber is president, CEO and professor of medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Prior to joining Baylor, Traber served as senior vice president for clinical development and medical affairs, and chief medical officer at GlaxoSmithKline.

He serves on the Council of Deans for the Association of American Medical Colleges and has chaired numerous committees for the American Gastroenterologic Association. Traber is a member of the Association of American Physicians, Texas Medical Association and American Society for Clinical Research.

Traber received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and served his residency in internal medicine at Northwestern University Medical School.

The Houston Branch board of directors consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed board and three by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington D.C.
