Ann B. Stern of Houston reelected to Dallas Fed board

DALLAS—Ann B. Stern of Houston has been re-elected to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas board of directors by its member banks. She will serve a three-year term starting Jan. 1, 2016.

In her role as a board member, Stern will provide input on regional economic conditions as part of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy functions.

She joined the Dallas Fed board in 2013 after serving on the Houston Branch board.

Stern is president and CEO of Houston Endowment Inc. Previously, she served as executive vice president of Texas Children’s Hospital. Prior to her time at Texas Children’s, Stern was an attorney for Beck, Redden and Secrest. She also taught business law at the University of St. Thomas.

Stern is chair of the board of St. John’s School. She is a past member of the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration’s Advisory Commission on Childhood Vaccines and St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities.

She holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Each Federal Reserve Bank has a nine-member board of directors. Three members represent commercial banks, three represent the public and three are appointed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
