Meet David
This is David. He’s a 30-year-old veteran and self-employed HVAC tech. After serving in the military, he knew that with a little extra training, he could use his skills to start his own small business. David took continuing education courses on managing a business and entrepreneurship at the local community college’s small-business development center.
He and his wife saved every month until they reached their savings goal to start a heating, ventilation and air conditioning company. While the business got off the ground, David’s wife kept her job so they would have steady income and benefits. He and his wife want to set a good example for their kids, so they make finances a regular discussion topic around the kitchen table. The couple is proud of the partnership they have developed in their marriage and hope to continue to grow their business.
