Wenxin Du is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Academic Advisory Council.

Du is a professor of finance and the Henry Kaufman Professor of Financial Institutions at Columbia Business School. She is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and co-leads the initiative on market frictions and financial risks. She was a financial research advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and principal economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System

Prior to joining Columbia, Du was a professor of finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She was a central bank research fellow at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland.

She serves as an associate editor at the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of International Economics and Review of Financial Studies.

Du holds a BA in economics and mathematics from Swarthmore College and an AM and a PhD in economics from Harvard University.
