John C. Haltiwanger

John C. Haltiwanger is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Academic Advisory Council.

Haltiwanger is Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Maryland. He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a senior research fellow at the Center for Economic Studies at the U.S. Census Bureau and a fellow of the Society of Labor Economics and the Econometric Society.

Prior to joining the faculty in Maryland, Haltiwanger was a faculty member at the University of California, Los Angeles and at Johns Hopkins University.

Haltiwanger holds an ScB in applied mathematics–economics from Brown University and a PhD from Johns Hopkins University.
