Don KohnDon Kohn is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Academic Advisory Council.

Kohn holds the Robert V. Roosa Chair in International Economics and is a senior fellow in the Economic Studies program at the Brookings Institution.

Kohn is a 40-year veteran of the Federal Reserve System, serving in several staff roles at the Board of Governors, including secretary of the Federal Open Market Committee (1987–2002) and director of the Division of Monetary Affairs (1987–2001). He was also vice chair of the Board of Governors from 2002 to 2010.

Kohn also served as an external member of the Financial Policy Committee at the Bank of England from 2011 to 2021. He is an expert on monetary policy, financial regulation and macroeconomics and has written extensively on these issues.

Kohn received a BA in economics from the College of Wooster and a PhD in economics from the University of Michigan.
