Laura MurilloLaura Murillo is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Community Advisory Council.

Murillo is president and chief executive officer of the Houston Hispanic Chamber. She is also the founding president and CEO of the chamber’s foundation and founding executive producer and host for the chamber’s radio and television programs on CBS KHOU, Audacy and Univision. In 2021, she was admitted into the Harvard University Women on Corporate Boards Executive Program and was named as a corporate director coach for 50/50 Women on Boards—Houston. Previously, she served as an executive at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center where she was also on the CEO’s Executive Committee.

Among her numerous honors, she has been named Outstanding Diversity Champion by the Houston Business Journal. They also presented her with the 2023 HBJ Diversity in Business Lifetime Achievement Award and named her “Most Admired CEO” and “Texas 100 People to Watch in 2022 List,” She was named the “2021 Global Leader of Influence Honoree” by the World Affairs Council, and Texas CEO Magazine cited Murillo as one of the “Top 30 Texas CEOs” for her leadership during the pandemic. She also received a “Distinguished Alumni Award” from the University of Houston, “Mother of the Year” from the Houston Latin American Philharmonic and the Ohtli Award—the highest honor bestowed by the Mexican government to a Mexican American—for her advocacy and civic leadership.

Murillo serves on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System Community Advisory Council. She has also served on the Houston BBVA Board of Directors, University of Houston Board of Advisors, University of Houston College of Medicine Committee, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors, Port Houston’s (The International Port of Texas) Business Equity Founding Advisory Council, Texas Southern University Chairman and President’s Council, the Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Board, Avangard Corporation Board of Directors, and the Mayor’s Hire Houston Board, among many others.

Murillo holds bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Houston.
