Byron BexleyByron K. Bexley is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council.

Bexley is vice chairman and San Antonio market leader for American Bank, a community bank with locations in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, the Coastal Bend, Austin and Houston. He has more than 40 years of experience leading community banks in Texas.

After beginning his career with Bank of the Southwest in Houston, Bexley joined Texas Commerce Bank in Katy and served as president and CEO of Texas Commerce Bank–Champions Park for three years. In 1988, he became president and CEO of Converse National Bank, which later changed its name to TexStar National Bank. He helped charter Mission National Bank in San Antonio in 1999 and served as president and CEO for five years. In 2004, Bexley helped reestablish TexStar National Bank in Universal City and served as chairman and CEO until its merger with American Bank in 2022.

Bexley serves on the advisory board for the Sam Houston State University Smith-Hutson Endowed Chair of Banking and is a member of the board of directors for the Independent Bankers Association of Texas. He has served on the board of directors for the Texas Bankers Association.

Bexley has a BBA in finance and management from Baylor University and an MBA in banking and financial institutions from Sam Houston State University.
