Jim Hughes

Jim Hughes is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Energy Advisory Council.

Hughes is a managing partner for energy transition at EnCap Investments L.P. He was previously chief executive officer and managing director of Prisma Energy, LLC, which focused on investments in energy storage and was acquired by EnCap in 2019. Prior to that, Hughes was chief executive of First Solar and AEI Services LLC.

Hughes is a director of TPI Composites Inc., Alcoa Corp. and PNM Resources Inc. He is the former chairman of the Los Angeles branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Hughes earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law and a Certificate of Completion in International Business Law from Queen Mary’s College, University of London.
