Reimagining the American Dream: Housing + Economic Opportunity

Economic opportunity and mobility are at the core of America’s identity and values. Yet we know that income mobility rates differ between cities and ZIP codes. This summit explored how we can ensure that children from disadvantaged backgrounds have the same prospects for success as their affluent counterparts. How do we guarantee that all children have equitable access to economic opportunities, regardless of the ZIP codes in which they live? What role can safe and affordable housing play in improving opportunity for all? Speakers and sessions sought to answer these questions, focusing on the following topics: workforce development, workforce housing, digital inclusion, credit, debt and intergenerational wealth.
