Stephanie Schmitt-GrohéStephanie Schmitt-Grohé is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Academic Advisory Council.

Schmitt-Grohé is a professor of economics in the Department of Economics at Columbia University, a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and a research affiliate at the CEPR.

Prior to joining Columbia, she held positions at Duke University, Rutgers and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She is a recipient of the Bernácer Prize. Schmitt-Grohé's research focuses on the design of monetary and fiscal policies, including optimal macroprudential policy, and on understanding the sources and propagation of macroeconomic shocks within and across countries.

Schmitt-Grohé holds a vordiplom in economics from the University of Münster, an MBA from Baruch College and a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago.
