Jesús Garza of Austin reappointed to Dallas Fed’s San Antonio Branch board

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Board of Governors has reappointed Jesús Garza of Austin to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ San Antonio Branch board of directors. He will serve a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2021.

Garza joined the San Antonio Branch board in 2016.

As a board member, Garza provides input on regional economic conditions as part of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy functions.

He is retired president and CEO of Seton Healthcare Family, a member of Ascension.

Prior to joining Seton, Garza was deputy general manager for the Lower Colorado River Authority, following his eight years of service as city manager for the City of Austin. He began his government career in Austin in 1978, holding positions of increasing responsibility. He also served as assistant city manager and deputy city manager in Corpus Christi and returned to Central Texas to become executive director of the Texas Water Commission.

Garza serves on the University of Texas at Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs Advisory Council, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Christus Spohn Board in Corpus Christi and St. Vincent’s Board in Santa Fe.

Garza is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

The San Antonio Branch board consists of seven members, four appointed by the Dallas Fed and three appointed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
