Dallas Fed appoints Heidi Mitchell as senior vice president of cash services and treasury operations

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has appointed Heidi Mitchell as senior vice president with responsibility for cash services and Treasury operations.

In her new role, Mitchell will provide oversight of Eleventh Federal Reserve District cash services, including operations in Dallas, El Paso and Houston, and will support the mission to supply currency and coin to meet demand, maintain the quality and integrity of currency and coin in circulation, and ensure that depository institutions have ready access to cash services.

Mitchell also will oversee the Bank’s Treasury Operations Department, which supports the Treasury Bureau of Fiscal Services by assisting federal benefit recipients to transfer benefit payments from paper checks to direct deposit.

She joined the Bank in 2006 as a bank examiner and held various roles in banking supervision and credit, risk and reserves management (CRRM). In 2017, Mitchell was named assistant vice president and privacy officer and managed the local implementation of the Federal Reserve System’s Data Privacy Framework. In 2019, she was named assistant vice president and assistant general auditor, and later vice president.

Prior to her new appointment, Mitchell was vice president of CRRM at the Dallas Fed.

Mitchell holds a BBA from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Pennsylvania Western University. She has completed executive education courses at Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Business.

The Dallas Fed serves the Eleventh Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Texas, northern Louisiana and southern New Mexico.
