Nicholas Tejeda

Nicholas (Nico) Tejeda is the Western Group president for Tenet Healthcare, overseeing operations in West Texas, New Mexico and California.
Tejeda is responsible for a network of facilities that includes 16 hospitals and numerous ambulatory access points such as freestanding ERs, comprehensive cancer centers, physician clinics, ambulatory surgery centers and other outpatient service centers.
Tejeda currently sits on the executive committee of the Texas Hospital Association’s board of trustees. He previously served on the American Hospital Association board of trustees, including two years on the executive committee.
In 2018, he became the first non-physician to receive the Early Career Achievement in Medicine Award from the University of Kansas Medical Alumni Association. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and previously received the organization’s Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award, which honors achievements of ACHE fellows under age 40. In 2020, he received the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees Award for his contributions to improving health equity across the United States.
Tejeda earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Wichita State University and a master’s in health services administration from the University of Kansas Medical Center.
