Matt ZamesMatt Zames is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Financial Sector Advisory Council.

Zames is the founder of Zames Group, an advisory and restructuring business focused on financial institutions and financial technology companies. Zames Group has advised multiple top global banks as measured by assets, regional U.S. banks, global digital banks and financial technology companies.

From 2018 to 2021, Zames was president of Cerberus Capital Management and chairman of Cerberus Technology Solutions, where he had broad responsibilities across the firm’s global platform, including overseeing investments in the financial services industry, growing the use of technology, data, and AI in investment activities, and helping the firm identify and capitalize on new investment strategies.

Prior to that, Zames was the chief operating officer (COO) and a member of the Operating Committee of JPMorgan Chase & Co. from 2012 to 2017. Zames was co-COO from July 2012 until April 2013 and previously was CIO of JPMorgan Chase. Prior to 2012, Zames held a series of senior roles in the firm’s Investment Bank, including co-head of Global Fixed Income for J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank and head of Chase’s Mortgage Banking Capital Markets.

Zames is a former member of the New York Fed’s Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets, a former member and chairman of the U.S. Treasury Department’s Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee and a former member of the New York Fed’s Treasury Market Practices Group.

He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1993.
