Programs for Students and Graduates
As a summer intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas you will have a chance to put theory into action, learn about business by doing, build relationships for the future, grow your skills and make a contribution that will affect the economy in our region, our nation and the world.
Our program is designed to provide an exciting and challenging experience for top performing students from colleges and universities across the country. While working as an intern within a business line at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas you will have unique developmental opportunities to build your skills and increase your business acumen, and you will position yourself for a successful career launch when you graduate, possibly with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in one of its four offices (Dallas, El Paso, Houston and San Antonio).
- Job postings for summer internships are available beginning in December of each year. Available jobs are posted in Current Job Openings and on the Federal Reserve Bank Careers Facebook page. (NOTE 1-24-2018: The internship window is closed. Interested candidates should check back in December 2018 for new opportunities.)
Intern Role—as an intern you will become a valued team member within one of the business lines in the Bank. You can expect to work on meaningful projects that will challenge your intellect and allow you to apply what you have learned in school to real world situations. Most importantly your experience will prepare you for your future career and will allow you to work alongside some of the top professionals in the organization.
Development—Aside from the day-to-day work as an intern, we will provide you with tools to help you grow and develop your career. You will gain an understanding of the business of the Federal Reserve and its importance to our country. You will develop skills through access to formal training, job shadowing, networking sessions with Bank leaders, and taking on leadership roles in various volunteer activities sponsored by the Bank.
Building a Network—The program experience creates opportunities for you to build life-long relationships as you connect with people who can help guide your career. You will interact with other interns and colleagues across all business lines and at every level of the organizational chart. You will find experienced professionals who may become mentors and managers who will provide coaching and guidance.
Length of Program—You can expect the summer internship program to last between eight and twelve weeks. Normal work days are from 8a.m. to 5p.m. Monday through Friday. That leaves evenings and weekends free to become familiar with the city and socialize with the other interns and employees from the Bank.
Compensation—Our intern salaries are competitive within the financial industry sector. We also have excellent benefits for interns that include free passes for mass transit, a free membership to our onsite fitness center (Dallas), free covered parking and subsidized meals in our excellent onsite cafeteria.
