Maria Garcia-Osipenko is a research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. She joined the Dallas Fed in 2026.
Maria is an applied microeconomist working on topics in energy, environmental and transportation economics, using tools from empirical industrial organization. Her work examines how market structure, frictions and policy incentives shape the decisions of households and firms, and how these choices affect efficiency, distributional outcomes and environmental externalities.
She received a PhD in economics from Arizona State University in 2026.
