Real Trade-Weighted Value of the Dollar by U.S. State

The real trade-weighted value of the dollar index compares the value of the dollar against the currencies of countries with which each of the 50 U.S. states trades. The real exchange rates are aggregated across countries for each state, using the average export share to the country since 1988. Each index allow analysts to more precisely identify the exchange rate movements that most affect demand for a state’s exports.
